Q- May I book a reservation on your website?
A- Yes. We have an SSL Certificate and our website is completely secure for all of your reservations and/or purchases.
Q- How many people can fly in your helicopter?
A- Our helicopters seat up to 4 passengers...3 in the back and one up front next to the pilot. Seating is determined by a weight and balance calculation created for every flight, a safety procedure required by the FAA, which is why you will be asked your weight at the time you check in. Safetly is, of course, our #1 priority.
Q- What are your hours of operation and where do you fly from?
A- We are an on-demand operation, open 7 days/wk, yet our tour times vary. We currently operate from two locations:
1. Capital City Airport (3 miles from downtown Harrisburg) at Capital City Aviation
2. Central PA Heliport (adjacent the Klick Lewis Arena in the Flightpath Business Park, 101 Landings Drive, Palmyra PA)
Both locations are open every day, however, where we fly from depends on the tour. Hershey Heights tour operates from the Central PA Heliport in Palmyra. The Ultimate Amish Adventure may depart from either location. The Susquehanna and Capital City tour departs from Capital CIty Airport, just 3 miles from downtown Harrisburg. Private or custom tours can be flown from either location with advance notice.
Q- Do I need a reservation?
A- We strongly suggest reservations for all of our tours....especially since the tours only fly on certain days. Most area hotels can book your tour for you when you arrive, or you can book online on your own at any time at www.CentralPAHelicopters.com. You can also call us at 717-306-9103 and leave a message. We will return your call within 24 hours.
If you are a participant of the baseball or lacrosse competition at In-The-Net in Palmyra, or part of a hotel package for any of the area hotels, be sure to ask your coach or front desk for the promotion code if booking online.
Q- Do you ever have delays or interruptions to your scheduled flights?
A- Delays occur for various reasons: 1) Late passengers. 2) Inclement weather and the next flyable weather day. 3) Extreme heat, cold or high wind days.
Q- Is there public transportation to either location?
A- No. If you don't have a car, there are always local taxi or limousine services available to you. You may also want to check with your hotel for possible shuttle service.
Q- Are private tours available?
A- Yes, private tours are available. Please call 717-306-9103 and you will be able to design any route you wish.
Q- How long are your tours?
A- Hershey Heights is approximately 6-8 minutes. The Ultimate Amish Adventure is approximately 2 1/2 hours and includes 30 minutes of helicopter flight time. The Capital CIty and Susquehana tour is approxmately 5-6 minutes. Private Helicopter tours may be any length and are priced accordingly for the entire helicopter. (maximum is 4 passengers)
Q- Do you have gift certificates available for purchase?
A- We are still setting up for the 2012 season. but Gift Certificates will soon be available online. Any tour that is purchased as a gift certificate is valid for one year. Gift certificates are non refundable.
Q- What happens if I buy a tour and my flight is cancelled due to weather?
A- Central PA Helicopters will do it's best to reschedule your tour for another day and time. If we cannot find an agreed upon date and time for your tour, we will refund you in full. Gift Certificates are non refundable and non transferable.
Q- What is your cancellation and or refund policy?
A- Central PA Helicopters will not charge you for any date or time changes made by us for an existing prepaid helicopter tour. Any cancellations later than 24 hours of your tour departure date is subject to a $10.00 per person cancellation fee. There are no refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled date or in the case of a "no show". Central PA Helicopters, LLC reserves the right to alter or terminate any or all of our sightseeing tours due to security, unscheduled maintenence, weather or acts of God. If this happens and a new reservation date cannot be made then you will be refunded for the full cost of your tour. Gift certificates are non refundable and non transferable, however, yet they are valid for one year from date of purchase.
Q. Should I call to check my reservation status on the day of my flight if the weather looks bad?
A. Yes it is always a good idea to check with us prior to your flight if the weather looks bad. The weather here changes quickly, so don't assume that your flight will be cancelled. We will try to have a weather update on our phone line should you not reach us immediately.
Q. Must I bring my photo identification with me?
A. Yes - all guests are required to have a valid photo ID.
